The Rooms BMO Uprooted: Resettlement in Newfoundland and Labrador Edukit
Students are engaged in an investigation of the causes for and impacts of the government-sponsored resettlement programs that took place during the 1950s, 60s and 70s in our province. Students examine what life was like in communities prior to resettlement, the dramatic changes in the fishery during the 1940s and 50s, the conditions and factors that resulted in the resettlement programs, and the legacy of these programs.
(Grade 8 Social Studies & Grade 3)
Each kit is packed with a variety of interactive materials, lesson plans, and activity sheets!
Kits are available to schools across the province, on a two-week loan basis, free of charge.
