Arts & Letters
Awards reception: Friday April 19 | 7:30pm | Free Event
This exhibition honours the 2024 Arts & Letters Awards recipients alongside a curated selection of submissions from Newfoundland and Labrador residents in Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Media Arts and Music. Two new prizes have been introduced in celebration of the Newfoundland and Labrador Medical Association's 100th anniversary.
Established by the Provincial Government in 1952 and now administered by the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, and Recreation, this program is a beacon of opportunity for this province’s vibrant arts community. It encourages and rewards creative expression through cash prizes, expert adjudication, and the showcasing of entries. Throughout its history, the competition has highlighted (and even launched the careers of) individuals who have made significant contributions to the province's artistic community, including Duane Andrews, Mary Barry, David Blackwood, Vessela Brakalova, Cassie Brown, Megan Gail Coles, Clare Follett, Percy Janes, Kevin Major, Bernice Morgan, Lisa Moore, Rae Perlin, Michael Pittman, Helen Fogwill Porter, Rob Power, and Christopher Pratt.
